The Rajasthan government has significantly expanded the Mukhyamantri Chiranjeevi Swasthya Bima Yojana, increasing coverage to over 1,500 medical procedures — up from 1,126 earlier. The scheme, which provides free hospitalisation cover of up to ₹25 lakh per family per year, now includes organ transplants, advanced cancer chemotherapy, and complex cardiac procedures.

Chief Minister announced the expansion during the scheme’s third anniversary, emphasising the government’s commitment to making healthcare accessible to every family in Rajasthan regardless of their economic status.

What’s New in the Expansion

  • Liver and kidney transplants now covered up to ₹15 lakh
  • All 12 cancer types now covered under chemotherapy packages
  • High-cost cardiac surgeries including bypass and valve replacement
  • Cochlear implants for hearing-impaired children
  • Spinal cord injury rehabilitation

How to Enrol

Families can enrol by visiting the nearest Jan Aadhaar Kendra, E-Mitra centre, or online at chiranjeevi.rajasthan.gov.in. The annual premium is ₹850 per family. BPL families, farmers, small traders, and government contract workers are enrolled free of charge.

Over 1.5 crore families are currently enrolled in the scheme, making it one of the largest state health insurance programmes in India.
